More on Blog Disclaimers Jun 09, 2004

Warning:

This article is more than 45 days old and thus may be somewhat out of date. Please keep this in mind when reading the post. If this is a tutorial, please check whether you are using the same versions mentioned in the article.

Kevin at TechLawAdvisor mentions the recent blog disclaimer discussion, and also suggests additional wording. I am using a modified version of this as my disclaimer now.

Of course, I don't intend on including it on every page - that would just be ridiculous. The best suggestion I heard (and forgive me, I don't remember where I heard it) was that the syndication format(s) should be extended to support a disclaimer as part of the feed. As most will attest, a large percentage of readership these days (for me, upwards of 80%) is via an aggregator, and these people will never see my disclaimer.

I wonder - if no one ever sees my disclaimer, am I actually disclaiming any liability? Maybe Kevin or other blawgers can weigh in on that issue.
