My ski season this year was amazing. I got a very early start in Utah and continued the season with a lot of good trips. I wanted to write a small retrospective, as it was such a good year.
December 2004-The Canyons at Park City, UT-http://thecanyons.com-This was my first trip to ski the West, and I picked a good place to start. The Canyons is an incredible resort with 8 peaks (yes, I said 8). I stayed there for 3 days and didn't come close to seeing the whole resort. Park City is an awesome town too. Lots of things to do, as long as you can get your head around those crazy Utah liquor laws.
January 2005-Windham and Bellayre, NY-Two quick day trips. Windham consisted of me being the instructor for the day, teaching two of my best friends to ski. I did some skiing, and they did some sliding down the mountain. Bellayre was with my brother and his friend. He's become a great boarder, and I really enjoy skiing with him now as he has no issues keeping up anymore =)
February 2005-Lake Placid, NY-http://www.whiteface.com-Ahhh Whiteface, my favorite mountain in the world. The longest vertical in the East, and people still haven't figured it out. My brother and I spent 5 days up there, and skied for 3 of them. I have come to love skiing the Nastar giant slalom course there, and picked up another two bronze medals for my efforts. There are maybe 5 trails we didn't ski while we were there. This was definitely my favorite trip of the year.
March 2005-Mt. Snow, VT-http://www.mountsnow.com/-A warm March Saturday turned into a great way to end the season. I headed up there with a good friend from college and we spent the day flying down the mountain's north face as fast as we could. The main trails got mushy by mid-afternoon, but the north face held up well. It was a perfect way to conclude a great season.
