I wonder how many years it will take for Internet-based firms to put Verizon out of business! Internet-based telephony can certainly be delivered cheaper than POTS (plain old telephone service), but POTS still has the advantage of being very resiliant during disasters, power outages and other events that can compromise parts of the Internet.
I have had an IPod Mini (actually 3 of them) for the past 2 years. I got a generation 1 model, and had issues with battery life 3 times. After the 2nd replacement, Apple told me they would not replace it again. I ask about getting a better battery if I paid for the replacement service, and they said they would give me the same battery I had. So long story short-I am pretty fed up with Apple. I've been looking at the marketplace, specifically at Sony, Archos and Dell. I'm looking for recommendations-if anyone has has an IPod and then jumped to another vendor after frustrations with Apple, I'd love to heard what product you selected and why. I haven't ruled out another IPod, but I hate to get another just because of Apple's market share. I'd like to believe there are better products out there being overshadowed.
