Thursday in NYC is a pretty bad night for TV, and the NY Rangers were off as they swept the Atlanta Thrashers in 4 games this week! So I put on Discovery HD and found a program called Austin Stevens: Snakemaster . And in the first 15 minutes of the show, he almost died 3 times! He was bitten by a cobra and rushed to a hospital, almost had his arm taken off by a python, and then ended up in the water trying to prevent an anaconda from wrapping him up like sushi. And just like Steve Irwin used to, he'd pick up some large venomous snake and after a couple seconds of say "Oh! I think he's pretty mad!" Well, DUH! If you picked me up from a nap, I'd be pretty pissed too! I understand the desire to further people's understanding of these animals, but doesn't it set a bad example to sneak up behind a rattlesnake and pick it up???? If you get the chance, definitely catch the show. It's good for a few laughs and the shock value...
