No more DRM for iTunes?

Apparently someone has figured out a way to strip the DRM from downloaded songs.

Canon 17-85 EF-S IS USM Lens

I recently bought a Canon 20D camera and I needed a good lens to go with it.  I first bought the 50mm 1.8 lens for $70 since it was a good lens at a good price.  The 50mm 1.4 lens has USM but is 3x the cost.

However, I was still looking for something more than the kit 18-55 lens.  (BTW the 20D in Japan was released with the 18-55 USM lens)

I bought the 17-85 EF-S IS USM lens since it gave me most of what I needed:

  • Wide Angle
  • Good zoom (~27mm to ~136mm 35mm equivalent)
  • Light Weight

I did run into one issue with the lens, some dust and fibers were present under the lens, very visible when at the widest zoom point.  I brought the lens to Canon and they said, due to the construction of the lens, zooming in and out can potentially draw in dust into the lens.   Additionally he tried to convince me that the dust cannot be resolved by the camera’s sensor. (BTW they brought my lens to a technician and he blew the dust off the element, but the particles could still be present...)

Personally, no offence to Canon but this is unacceptable.  They should either replace the lens or clean the lens properly, vs. blowing.  By giving me some story of why the product is the way it is, is not the way to do business.  Especially for the amount of $$$ spent on the Lens.  Maybe Nikon is better….

Reviews of the new Pentium 4 with 64bit

Finally Intel is releasing some new chips with the EM64T instruction set.  Here is a great article comparing some of the new chips.

I personally am waiting for Dual Core CPUs, before I upgrade...

Also, a great chip reference is located on geek.com
