Windows Vista Build 5456

Toshiba M400 with Windows Vista Beta 2 (5384) - Update - Aero Glass

It has been a few weeks since I have been using the new Vista build on my Toshiba M400.  I am happy to report that Aero Glass is now working on the integrated GMA 950(945GM Chipset)!

You will need to first activate your copy of Vista, thanks Tim for pointing that out.

Steps:

1. Click on Start --> Control Panel
2. Click on "Drivers and Sound"
3. Click on "Device Manager"
4. Drill down to "Display adapters"
5. Find the Intel 945GM entry and Right Click and select Properties from the context menu
6. Click on the "Drivers" tab
7. Click on "Update Driver"
8. Click on "Browse my computer for driver software"
9. Click on "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer"
10. Un-Check "Show compatible hardware"
11. Select "Intel" from the Left pane
12. Select the driver "Intel Lakeport Graphics Controller (Microsoft Corporation WDDM)
13. Click "Next"
14. Reboot!
