I have an old remote that I need to get fixed anyways, and I already had the dock.

Fact of the matter is, the remote is really the only useful peripheral; the case is ok, and the dock isn't very useful at all.

SBS2k3 comes with a POPconnector included as well. The POP that is referred to as disabled is for external pop pulling.

Are you installing "Portal Server" which is a totally different product or "Windows Sharepoint Services" which is already under the hood and configures itself as "http://companyweb" during the install?

During the SBS install Sharepoint will be directed to port 444 [to co-exist with OWA on port 443]

Follow the wizards and it does all this set up for you.

WSS 2.0 is the "free" product that comes with Windows 2003. Sharepoint Portal Server 2003 is an additional cost. Most individuals will not be using SPS but just WSS. SBS has an aggregation theme in mind, I mean it allows you to search and index many different sources, i.e. public folders, many wss sites, files etc..

Thanks for bringing up the wizard. I have to write about Migrating my SBS installation to a new server at a future time. This is one of the main reasons I wasn't using the wizard the second time around.

So far I am not sure why I need to use a different port for SSL and OWA. If you add the security policy to the OWA web.config you should be fine. Everything is humming along well on the same site.

I've installed SharePoint Portal Server on a box whose name is A2004SP. The domain name is A2004.
I've installed Exchange Server 2003 on a different box called MAILEXSP, joining the domain: A2004.

I'm creating a portal for the users, and each user will have their Inbox, in My Site. The problem I'm having is that the portal asks for auth the first time (A2004\JDOE) and then, when the users clicks on My Site, the portal asks again for authorization but now on each of the webPart.

I've followed the steps you depicted in your post, but I've been unable to find a solution... and I've been researching in the newsgroups and Microsoft knowledge base and nothing...

I have seen a lot of questions regarding this issue, but little answers... do you have a hint for this?

Have you tried using the OWA webparts instead of the page viewer? They should be located in the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\60\TEMPLATE\1033\SPSPERS\LISTS\WPLIB\DWP folder. I will try however to figure out a solution.

Yes the zone of where your machine will dictate to what sites credentials will be automatically sent. In my case, the external addresses are in the internet zone and the myhome.local domain is considered local intranet. The security setting are set to automatically login in the local intranet.

Now to the problem at hand. I believe we may have a delegation issue. We will probably need to enable the protocol transfer extensions to the kerberos protocol in Windows 2003. To be able to delegate the credentials off of the web server. I wont be able to look at this for a few days but this will be the path I will be looking down.

The only solution for public folders in Sharepoint I have come up with so far is to allow anonymous access to the "public" virtual directory in IIS on your OWA server. This means that if you enter the address of a public folder (e.g. http://servername/public/staffcalendar/?cmd=contents&view=weekly) it will go straight to it with no authentication - but this takes off security for public folders. To make this more secure, you could instead create a copy of the public virtual directory (in IIS 6 you can save its configuration to a file, then create a new virtual directory from the file) with an unguessable name, and only remove anonymous access for that. Your main public folder is secure and the copy (which you use in Sharepoint Page Views) is not likely to be hacked as people will not know it exists.

Basically it was a educated guess. Since the phone was out of warranty the best thing to do was to replace the battery otherwise I would be w/o a phone. If your phone is < 1 year you can take it to a sprint store and they will exchange it for you in a few days.

But what you will need to do is setup another Web Site in the IIS MMC. When you configure the site, you will need to configure the host header with the dns name of your internal address, i.e. mycompany.local. Finally in order to use SSL you will have to assign a second IP address. Multiple web sites cannot share the same ip address when using SSL.

Assign the ip address to the network interface. Then within the IIS MMC click on the properties for the site. In the "Web Site" tab add the IPaddress to the site using the advanced button. Also add a host header so IIS can identify for which url to use for the IP.

This won't work with the configuration I have using my ISP as I will need two externally accessable IP addresses.

You must be sily. Dust can get into any lens (except some L series), and that's OK..

It does not affect the picture a lot. if it's usual dust - it usually doesn't affect at all. (depends on the ammount, ofcource)

If you force the display adapter to use the Intel Lakeport drivers, you can get glass, but screen rotation no longer works. I could not get the buttons or fingerprint reader running either but that will come in time, I'm sure. My biggest frustration was with trying to play a dvd. Neither MCE or WMP11 would play a DVD. WMP11 reported that it could not play it due to copyright protection. MCE gave me a black screen as it started to play and all I could do was go back to the menu. Going to Tech Ed in Bostion in a couple of weeks and I couldn't be without my DVDs :) I am back on XP Tablet edition again and waing to see if anyone gets around the issues or if MS drops another build before Tech Ed - would like to take something workable with me. As for Office 2007, so far so good. I am liking it so far. Brian

After the movie was done, I dropped the machine into hibernate mode to change batteries. On the resume attempt, I got a bluescreen. Reboots yielded the same BSOD with a code of 0x00000024 I think. I finally through my Vista DVD (always prepared :)) in and did a repair install on the plane. It seemed to recover ok and I was able to use it again for a couple of days and then I got a similar corruption error that I could not get out of. At this point, I needed a stable system with OneNote for the conference, so I restored back to my XP install. I will attempt Vista again once I get home. I could live without the hibernation support for now but I would like the glass and screen rotation both to work. One of the MS guys gave me his card so I can follow up on these issues with him. He did say that the M400 is the standard issue at MS for tablet users so they need to fix for their internal users and are working hard at it.

It seemed to recover ok and I was able to use it again for a couple of days and then I got a similar corruption error that I could not get out of. At this point, I needed a stable system with OneNote for the conference, so I restored back to my XP install. I will attempt Vista again once I get home. I could live without the hibernation support for now but I would like the glass and screen rotation both to work. One of the MS guys gave me his card so I can follow up on these issues with him. He did say that the M400 is the standard issue at MS for tablet users so they need to fix for their internal users and are working hard at it.

I have been having way more FUN finding drivers for Windows Vista than issues with the FAN.  

The only cautionary not is not to turn off the FAN during boot.  That will cause the OS to go into thermal mode which throttles the CPU.
