Default Votes? The most disturbing thing I've heard about the election...

Via a friend whose sister voted today in NJ: The Diebold machines they used had Bush selected by default. If you wanted to vote for Kerry, you had to proactively change your vote. If you didn't intend on voting for a Presidential candidate, you unwittingly voted for Bush.

That doesn't seem Kosher to me. Anyone want to expound on the legal implications of that?

I'm in FL and when I voted no one was selected (I personally don't know if it was an undercover selected by default though) - then again, it may not have been a diebold machine I was voting on...

If what your friend's sister says is true - disturbing is an understatement...
