DHL Sucks

I ordered a package from Amazon and noticed they now have an option for Saturday delivery with Prime. Excellent... What I did not realize at the time is that this ships with DHL.

Every single time something has been shipped to me via DHL, something went wrong. Once, a Bluetooth module for my M200 showed up in a padded envelope that was quite literally shredded and missing half of the screws. Last time I had something scheduled for Saturday delivery it just never showed up.

And of course, today was no exception. First, I noticed that the package was shipped to Melville, which is about 40 miles from where I live. I called up to find out the status and was assured that, even though the tracking system was not updated, that the package was indeed with the driver. (This was around 2pm EST - the times below are PST).

Needless to say, the package never showed up. I just called up irate after waiting all day for a package that never showed up and the customer service rep told me that there was "a sorting error" and the package went to the wrong facility and was being rescheduled for Monday. Apparently, once it hit Melville, it was never going to show up at my place today.

I would have appreciated a call explaining this. I didn't get one. I might have been ok with it if the first representative explained this instead of assuring me it would show up (and thus being on house arrest waiting for the pacakge since they won't leave it). She didn't. And their "tracking system" continues to report that the package is expected to be delivered today and doesn't reflect the delay.

DHL sucks. I will have to remember to be more careful and never have anything shipped with them again.

What the F? Two times I have paid a premium for DHL's so called "Next Day Service" The first time I had flown from Tampa to Cincy, OH to do a business presentation; I had an assistant overnight me some materials that were not ready at the time my flight left. They were taken to the shipper at 8:00AM on Thursday, they were sent Next Day 10:30 guaranteed air. Friday rolled around, no package by 10:30, then noon; still no package, 3:00PM, I had to leave to give the presentation WITHOUT the pertinent materials... The customer service representative apologised profusely, and said the package would be delivered Monday... Paid for it to be delivered Friday morning, what the hell is Monday??? The package was in Wilmington, OH on Friday; not that far from where I was. Monday comes and goes, no package!!! Tuesday, I have to fly back to Tampa, the package is "out for delivery"; I tell the so-called "customer service" rep that I am about to be flying back to the origin of the package. She offers to ship the package back "free-of-charge"; I tell her "no thanks", I don't really want to wait another week to get the materials. Finally they contact the driver who has the package, he met me at a White Castle on the way to the airport. 5 days on an overnight, I vowed to not use DHL again...

Fast forward to this past Thursday 4/5/07, I purchase a fuel tank for my boat as I discovered mine to have a significant leak. I am entered in a fishing tournament with a couple of friends; we paid a $500.00 entry fee. I paid $82.00 for "overnight delivery" so I would have the tank on Friday, and get it installed Friday evening. Guess what... The seller used DHL; guess where the package was last seen... Wilmington, OH! Once again, I call customer service, they tell me the package is "in transit" they are expecting it in Saint Petersburg Saturday morning. At first, the guy tells me that it cannot be delivered until Monday. This is not what I want to hear; he then says he will note the shipment with a "hot ticket" which means it will be shipped to me as soon as it arrives at the terminal. I just got off the phone with "customer service" who told me that they are unsure of just where the freight package is; it is "in transit" and will not be delivered today, but should be here on Monday.

Second time using DHL's "overnight service", second time no package... What is the deal? If they don't make the overnight deadline, do they just say "screw it" and put it on regular freight??? This is complete BS, DHL SUCKS!!!!!! BOOOO!!!

Wow I am just sooo surprised how many people blog about DHL services and how bad they are. I will never use that company again! They treated my package like it was nothing and threw it in the backyard with my big dog! Well I guess i was lucky there was nothing breakable in there.. I have discovered that using our local

Detroit courier services company is the best. I will not trust anyone besides them with our packages.I have noticed that with the smaller local delivery service companies we get better service and its more personal.

DHL sucks! I have 4 major things I have ordered and was shipped by DHL messed up. The cost I lost was over $3,000 for all the items. DHL didn't refund me a penny either! Arr! The first 2 items were a New Hood for my car which arrived smashed in pieces. The 2nd items was a body kit for my car which again was broken up. The third item was a computer which arrived smashed up with parts missing. The current item wasn't that expensive but still I am out $100 for a suitcase that never showed that they apparently delivered to someone else who lives 2 states away!

How can DHL get away with this crap?

I really despise DHL. Whenever there is an option to choose which carrier, I always make sure it is not DHL. What I hate is when the available shipping methods are not listed and I end up with an e-mail later on saying my order (usually placed online) has been sent with DHL. <<<<Cringe>>>> The 3 times I have had something delivered through them, each time something was wrong, went wrong. First of all, they only deliver to my town about twice per month, although they deliver steadily to a city about 45 miles away from here. So, the packages end up sitting in that city until they dispatch a truck to my town, again only twice per month. Secondly, they have often incorrect online tracking information. I also placed an order (unknowing that DHL would be the delivery service) and that order should have come at the same time. Instead, I had 2 boxes that were brought on different days (a week or so apart) and the second box arrived all squished and smashed, some of the products inside totally damaged. Just today I received notice that a very expensive electronics piece I ordered has been sent through DHL. ARGH!!! Never again will I order from any store, online or not, that doesn't clarify which carrier(s) they are using, and especially I would avoid DHL like a plague. This company totally sucks!!!

DHL is HORRIBLE. I paid $79 to Amazon.com for Prime Membership which advertises "all you can eat" FREE 2-day shipping. Well, every time I have orderd 2-day shipping, they use DHL to ship. Every time DHL ships, the package is late. Why am I paying $80 for all-you-want 2-day shipping WHEN I'M NOT GETTING 2-DAY SHIPPING?

My conclusion? Amazon.com sucks just as much as DHL does...because they CHOOSE to use DHL, and unreliable service.

DO NOT...I repeat DO NOT ever pay for Amazon Prime Membership. It's a HUGE waste of money, a rip-off, a scam. When they stop using DHL as a service, maybe then I will start buying from AMAZON again. Until then, I'm going to Borders.

And yes, DHL sucks. "Package Delayed" every time I place an order is no excuse. Don't advertise 2-day delivery if you can't deliver, you pieces of CRAP.

The management at DHL could not run a lemonade stand if their lives depended on it.

After tracking a very important business package online and stating that it was out for for delivery, I decided to take the day off work solely so that I can be at home and sign for the delivery of this package. Without saying anything new, the package never made it. I called customer service and they said they didn't know why it was not delivered but that it would be delivered first thing the following day. The following day, the online tracking stated the same message "out for delivery", so I decided to take another day off from work for the same reason. At $400 a day being off from work, this package is costing me a heafty price tag. Again, package is still not delivered and had to call customer service 6 times to receive 6 different stories. Tomorrow will be day three, and if I don't get it by tomorrow, it's not worth the $1200 that it cost me to be away from work for that long. I AM DISGUSTED BY THE INCOMPITENCE OF DHL!!! NEVER WILL I DEAL WITH THEM AGAIN!!!

Hello everyone! I live out here in Michigan and have been let down in the past by a couple of the big name delivery services out here. After being becoming dissatisfied with some of the service I was receiving I started using a company called Diligent Delivery. They are hands down the best delivery service in Michigan. After using such a dependable and friendly company I’d be hard pressed to give my business to anyone else.

Running my own business too means that I really need my delivery services to be dependable and on time. Those of you who stated packages came late, I can really sympathize with you. There are many times during my day that I need same day courier service and again Diligent comes through every single time. Those of you in Michigan give them a shot if you’re dissatisfied with anybody’s service. If you’re not in Michigan, well good luck! :)

Yeah,... I've had no hot water in my home for over a week now because Whirlpool used "super-losers" DHL to ship a part I needed for my water heater!!!! They suck BIG TIME. The part was to be sent over-night, but according to DHL they couldn't confirm the business name it was being shipped to. (I had the part sent to my company, since I'm there all day) The rep I spoke w/ at DHL said there was something wrong with the name, but couldn't clarify what exactly. The address was correct, but they couldn't confirm the name???? What kind of crap is that? My company gets tons of packages & mail delivered on time even when someone has horribly misspelled the company name! They are total retards & I think they just tell big fat lies so they don't have to do certain deliveries. Maybe the driver was late for dinner & chose to skip me? They suck. I will NEVER use them & I will tell anyone I know not to use them either!!

I hate DHL said:

I'm completely done with DHL. NEVER AGAIN! I've been sitting here all day patiently for 16 hours on a package that I had sent 2 day business. On their page it says guaranteed delivery by 5 pm the 2nd business day. 5 pm came and went and then I called their customer support. The dumb *** asked me for the tracking number, said "it's on the truck," and then hung up on me. No **** it's on the truck. Why's it not at my front door by 8 you incompetent fool?! I called back later after i had cooled off asked if it could be put on the truck tomorrow for saturday delivery. The woman had the audacity to tell me that if I wanted that done I'd have to pay extra and there was still no guarantee. Then I asked her about the 2nd day business guarantee. She said that it doesn't apply to weekends since it says 2 business days and weekends are not business days. At this point I was about to hit the roof, but I gathered myself and quickly regained my composure to explain to her that I understood that the weekend was not a business day but the 2 damn days since the package was originally sent were and that they guarantee on their page in writing that it will be there by 5 pm of the 2nd business day. She had no answer for this except to say that there was nothing she could do and hung up. I tried calling back but all the phone numbers on their web page give some message saying that due to the high call volume no calls can be taken at this time. If that was true, how are all the phone lines possibly tied up? liars
