  • CIGNA Sucks!

Jason explains why ( via Jesse ). (Yeah, I'm late on this one).

  • Redefining the Generalist

Like Matt , I think this describes me pretty well . As you can probably tell from my writing, I find myself pulled in a number of directions. It's what attracted me a liberal arts school (to study Computer Science, no less) and eventually drew me to law school . Casting your net far and wide gives you...

  • Blog for the readers, not the traffic

I recently celebrated my third year writing this blog , which I thought was a pretty big milestone. One thing I didn't really address in that post is why I have continued to write here. I couldn't agree more with Scoble's comment about weblog traffic . I’ve been getting asked “how do you get traffic...

  • Security, Trust, and Transparency

Then again, our President also didn't find out about this deal until very recently. ( He might have heard earlier if, you know, he read the newspaper like the rest of us) . He may be right though - I mean, honestly, who's going to mess with us when we have a VP running around shooting people in the face...

  • Making the consumer feel great about a purchase

Alex hits it spot on when he says people are loyal to Apple because they make the consumer feel great about their purchase . When people compare specs and features of the iPod to other players, they're missing the point. It's about a wonderful experience from start to finish. It's not just that the product...

  • Here we go Steelers! Get one for the thumb!

[ This message was pre-recorded ] I haven't written anything yet about the Steelers magical run this year to avoid any jinx... but let me say this much: the Steelers deserve to win more than the Seahawks. Not necessarily because the players are better, but because the fans are. Pittsburgh is a city that...

  • Brokeback Mountain is a spectacular movie... go see it!

Although I was initially hesitant, I saw Brokeback Mountain with my girlfriend last week. I'm glad I did. It is simply an amazing film, as evidenced (perhaps) by the 4 Golden Globes it took home last night, including Best Picture (Drama). It is certainly of the most moving screenplays in recent memory...

  • Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! Hope everyone has a safe and successful 2005. Most of my resolutions are somehow the result of my current schedule. The combination of work and school is taking its toll, and I've cut corners elsewhere to compensate. Some are general resolutions, some are specific and measurable. Be more...

  • Team in Training: Donate to a Good Cause

My sister is taking part in the Team In Training program, which raises money for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society . I am writing to you with a story, one that has hit me very hard, and very close to home. About 2 years ago, a very good friend of mine, and the captain of my college lacrosse team, was...
